Symposium on Tuberculosis Awareness

With the massive destruction of  the floods on one side,  the disease outbreaks caused by it are now taking its tolls on thousands of poor lives. Many diseases are spreading amongst those affected and displaced because of the floods. And the treatment for these diseases are becoming increasingly difficult due to factors like lack of awareness, lack of hygiene, poor sanitation, highly congested relief camps and inavailibity of specific medicines.
As part of bringing awareness to people regarding these diseases, students of Ayub Medical College and Women Medical College who are members of Medical Youth Forum (MYF) organized a Symposium on TB on 29th of September, 2010 at Women Medical College, Abbottabad. Prof. Abdur Rab, Head Department of Pulmonology, Ayub Teaching Hospital, Dr. Sumbal Tariq, Dr. Mazhar Shah, Dr. Naser Shah were the guest speakers. The presentations were focused on  topics such as spreading of TB, statistics, treatment and prevention of T.B. Dr. Salim Wazir & Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, MYF Faculty Coordinators gave away the Certificate of Appreciation to the organizers of the event
